SCHEDULING A SESSION

I am currently booking sessions for Spring sessions. Spring is always a busy time and weekends fill up very fast. Please contact me soon to get your session booked! I will always make room for newborns as they come on their own little schedules, but would love as much advance notice as possible. Remember that newborn sessions are done within the first 2 weeks.

Summer Mini-Sessions, Part II {Southlake Child Photographer}

>> Wednesday, August 12, 2009

Ok, so here's the wrap up of all the sneak peeks from the Summer 09 mini-sessions. Thank you SO much to everyone that came out and splashed around with me. I had a great day and I hope that you and your kids did too! Now on to the goods....

Next up:
Henry and Madeline-8 months/2 yrs.

Madeline and Henry belong to someone I went to high school with, and today was the first time I had seen her in a VERY long time. I am looking forward to many more photoshoots and playdates though because, REALLY Henry...could you be any cuter? Madeline is 2 and seems to have the exact personality of my Addyson so it was fun trying to "trick" her into playing with me for some cute shots! She does love her bubbles though and might I add she is pretty darn good at them for 2! Thanks Melissa for coming and bringing these angels! It was great seeing you again!

I love when you get images that just beg you to try and figure out what a child is thinking! This is one of those for me!

Kylee-2 yrs

Kylee was the serious one of the bunch, but with one of those "I'm just as cute, if not cuter when I don't smile" faces. She also loves the "I'll do whatever you tell me NOT to game", which worked for several when we really did want to see that smiling face! So cute! It was so nice to meet you, mom, and grandma--thanks for coming!

Grant and Miles: just about 2 :)
These twins were my first of the day and got me going for a full day of pictures. They were typical 2 year olds...go, go, go and then SNACK TIME! Mom brought along the 2 matching chairs for them that turned out super cute and some fabulous glasses for each. Take a look...

Sydney-newly 3 going on 16

Sydney and I go way back...back to ummm, I don't know. Her mom is one of my best friends and we have known each other since college. I've taken lots of pictures of Sydney, but these are my favorites so far! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the tutu swimsuit. Can't even say it enough how much I love it! And I love you Miss Sassy Pants...

Kaia and Alyssa: almost 3/ 4 months

And hottie mom Roxanne...I can only say that because we are great friends and I already have SO many pictures to prove it! Just add this one to the book! :)
Love these girls! Love the suits! Love the personality! Love it all!

And last, but CERTAINLY not least...
Grant-2 years

Grant belongs to another high school friend of mine who recently relocated back to TX, and ended up closing on a house today making us neighbors! I am beyond thrilled! I can't even wait for you guys to be settled and so we can have lots of playdates for mommies and Addyson and Grant! Did I mention that I am so glad you're here?!
Grant was my "I'm here to swim, now let me in that pool" kid! I love the candid shots that we got of him actually in the pool. Most didn't go very far in, but Ashley had to go in after Grant several times from him just "going for it"! So cute! I think these are so fun, so Grant, and so GREAT!
Check out his face in this one... HA!

Summer Mini-Sessions Part 1 {Southlake Child Photographer}

>> Tuesday, August 11, 2009

Last week's mini-sessions were a huge success. I have to admit, I was a tiny bit nervous about my first round of mini-sessions, but they couldn't have gone better. Well, I could have done without the threat of a monsoon and kids being struck by lightening in the pool, but...we worked around it! :) I have been going through hundreds and hundreds of pictures of these adorable kids and my intention was to post 1 image from each session on the blog, but that turned into 2, which then turned into 3, and I am hoping I am not totally in for it by the time my sneak peeks are all over! The most time consuming part of the processing here has been to narrow it down to my favorites from each session! Seriously...these are some of the most precious kids and they just had so much fun in the pool that we got some of my favorite images...candid, all-natural smiles! For some reason I decided to work my way from the last session to the first, so here goes...the rest are on the way tomorrow. I am so exhausted I just hope I am making sense right now!

Introducing...

Jack-6 months
(we braved high winds and very close to complete darkness for these precious shots!)

McCall and Ridgely-3 yrs/4 mo
I loved hanging out with these 2 sweeties, their Mom, and their Papa. These were very difficult to choose between because there are just so many great expressions from McCall and then some that melted my heart of Papa and the girls.

Awww...I absolutely adore this one! ::sigh::

More to come tomorrow!

Summer mini-sessions and FABULOUS playdate cards! {DFW Child Photographer}

>> Saturday, July 25, 2009

I am sooooo excited about what I am about to tell you!!! It's been in the works for a few weeks now and it's time! I am doing my first round of mini-sessions I know they are going to be all I have hoped for--FUN, FUN, FUN! I know I am not the only one who hasn't gone to a really great beach resort this summer, but who says it can't look like you have? I have teamed up with an amazing friend of mine with an OUT OF THIS WORLD, resort-style pool to be the backdrop for this vision. I am not kidding..it's the greatest pool I have ever seen! A huge stone retaining wall all along the back of the pool, WITH a waterfall cascading down, a beach walk-in, a cave--yes, a cave; and just the prettiest surroundings you could ask for. Now, most people don't think of a bathing suit as appropriate "portrait attire", but why not? I know especially for girls, I always run across those bathing suits in the stores that are waaaaayyy too cute to even put on for swimming, but I think "she would look so cute in that for a picture". Well, here's your chance--Here are the details:

Wednesday, August 5th
20 minute mini-sessions

8am-11am morning sessions
2pm-6pm afternoon sessions

Where: Southlake-private residence

$40-includes a pack of 25 playdate cards
(see samples below) and 20% off gift prints from this session.

How do I sign up? Call Kelly at 214-724-1651 or email me at inspiredbyyouphoto@yahoo.com

Here are some examples of pictures you might get from this mini-session. I love these pictures of my daughter because when children are truly having fun, you get the most precious, amazing smiles!

Here are the super-cute playdate cards you will receive with your session. Playdate cards are custom so colors/text can be changed. They are 2 x 3 1/2 sized cards that will be PERFECT for meeting new friends when getting back to school. Or, we've all been there-you meet someone new and you say "hey, let's get the kids together...here's my number." Well, now you have playdate cards! Genius!

I think that this is going to be so fun, and what a great way to get pictures done while in the middle of TX summer heat! Call me for more details or to sign up!

I have thought of some possible questions and hopefully I can answer them within this post, but if I don't please email or call me!

**Mini-session is for 3 people only. If you have more than 3, you will be asked to purchase 2 sessions back to back.

**Can I bring my son/daughter's best friend because I think that would be really cute to get them photographed together for this? YES! That is a great idea! I wish I had thought of it myself!

**Parents--please wear your swim suit too. You will not be asked to be in any pictures unless you want to be, but just in case of emergency you will be the one to get your child out of the pool.

**Will my child be able to swim? Unfortunately, because this is a private residence and liability, kids will not be able to swim. The pictures will be done around the pool and in the beach walk-in. Kids may sit down in the water, kick, splash, and may even get just as wet as if they did go swimming, but they will NOT be allowed to go in further than the beach walk-in.

**Can I bring floaties or other fun "swimming" props? OF COURSE! Whatever you think will look good for your picture is great with me! I will have props too such as bubbles, beach balls, parasols, sunglasses, etc.

**What if we are running a little late for our session? Due to the mini-sessions being scheduled back-to-back, any amount of minutes that you are late will come off of your session. Thanks for understanding and being on time for your slot!

**Online proofing will still be available just like all my sessions, but within 1 week! Yay for you all!!!

**Very important--this area is very shaded so loads of sunscreen is not necessary. It will only get all in your child's hair and create a pasty, greasy look. Not so flattering for photos. Am I saying wear no sunscreen? No! You can get burned here riding in the car! Ha! I am just saying be mindful of this and know that they will not be out in full sun for the pictures.

**Location will be given out when retainer fee is paid, but I will give a hint to all you GCSML'ers...she is one of us and we ALL want to visit her pool! :) There is another clue hidden in this post somewhere!

**Can this be a family session? Well, yes...if one or both parents would like to be included that is totally fine with me! Just let me know if you will need 1 or 2 slots.
